Best Wall Wrap Materials for Office Branding

February 20, 20264 min read

Office branding goes far beyond a logo on the door. Today's most compelling workspaces use wall wraps to immerse employees and visitors in the company's identity, culture, and values. From reception areas and conference rooms to break rooms and hallways, branded wall wraps create environments that feel intentional, professional, and energizing. But choosing the right material is essential — it affects the look, durability, installation process, and cost of your project.

Adhesive Vinyl Wall Wraps

Cast vinyl with a repositionable adhesive is the most popular choice for wall wraps. It conforms to textured surfaces (like light orange-peel drywall), produces vibrant color-accurate prints, and lasts 5–7 years in indoor environments. Modern wall-specific vinyl features air-release channels that prevent bubbles during installation, and the adhesive is engineered for clean removal without damaging paint or drywall. This is the go-to material for photo-realistic imagery, brand patterns, mission statements, and full-wall murals.

Fabric Wall Coverings

Printable fabric wall coverings have gained popularity for office branding, especially in high-end and corporate environments. These polyester-based textiles are printed with dye-sublimation or latex ink and applied with adhesive or installed on a frame system. The advantages include a premium matte texture with zero glare (ideal for spaces with heavy lighting or video calls), acoustic dampening properties that reduce echo in open offices, and a more "refined" feel compared to vinyl. The trade-off is higher cost per square foot and fewer options for photo-realistic detail.

Wallpaper-Style Prints

Custom-printed wallpaper (both paste-the-wall and peel-and-stick varieties) offers another option for office branding. It's ideal for repeating patterns, subtle textures, and brand color accents. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is especially popular in leased office spaces because it removes cleanly at the end of a lease. However, it's less durable than vinyl for high-traffic areas and isn't suited for detailed photographic prints.

Specialty Materials

  • Whiteboard vinyl: Printed with your branding but features a dry-erase laminate surface. Perfect for conference rooms where you want branded walls that are also functional.
  • Magnetic-receptive vinyl: Allows you to attach magnetic elements (photos, announcements, rotating content) to a branded wall without pushpins or tape.
  • Textured and dimensional films: Vinyl films that simulate wood grain, brushed metal, concrete, or brick. These add tactile interest and architectural character without construction.
  • Window film for interior glass: Frosted, printed, or gradient films applied to glass partitions for privacy and branding in modern open-plan offices.

Choosing the Right Material

Consider these factors when selecting your wall wrap material:

  • Wall surface: Smooth drywall accepts nearly any material. Textured walls require conformable vinyl. Brick or concrete may need a primer or speciality adhesive.
  • Longevity: Permanent brand installations should use high-quality cast vinyl. Temporary or seasonal displays can use less expensive calendered vinyl or peel-and-stick wallpaper.
  • Environment: Break rooms and kitchens need washable, stain-resistant materials. Executive boardrooms benefit from fabric's premium appearance.
  • Budget: Vinyl wraps typically cost $8–$20 per square foot installed. Fabric coverings run $15–$35 per square foot. Custom wallpaper falls in between at $10–$25 per square foot.
